Next meeting date: September 27, 2010.James Driscoll, 18 Burr Avenue—had questions for Board regarding septic system and in-law apartment. Cullity pointed out that septic plans had been drawn, variances requested and approved by the Board for a bedroom addition. A building permit application for an in-law apartment, not a bedroom addition, was submitted. The apartment has been built, but the septic system was never installed. Cullity stated that the plans for the bedroom addition could not be used for the in-law apartment because of the variance requests. The in-law apartment system would be considered a new installation and the Board does not allow variances on new septic systems. Cullity told Driscoll that the in-law apartment must have its own septic tank and that a revised plan that’s in compliance for a second tank without variance requests must be submitted.
Board of Health member Tom Driscoll was dismissed to attend the Selectmen’s meeting re: Recycling Committee.
Jody Kearney, 38 Andrew Drive—DEA Drug Collection Day. Presented information about a drug collection day to the Board. As the police department would be the ones to manage it along with the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration), Cullity suggested that the Chief of Police be notified and asked if the Town could sign up for the program. Kearney hoped it could be on Saturday, September 25, 2010.
Cytrynowski moved to adjourn at 7:40 p.m.; Cullity seconded. All in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
Elizabeth Cytrynowski
Clerk
