The COD always takes used eyeglasses, TTY phone equipment, medical equipment (NOT commodes or toilet seats), and some, not bulky, fitness equipment.

The Commission On Disabilities is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping disabled residents of Pembroke. The C.O.D. provides residents with transportation to and from doctor appointments,work,shopping,etc. The Commission has made structural improvements to town buildings such as the town hall, library,all the towns schools,and the town green... such improvements included accessibility to restrooms, installation of automatic doors, and accessible ramps. Many of these projects were completed with donations of materials and manpower. Other donations included a wheelchair for general use at the library, and a wheelchair equipped minivan that was donated to a wheelchair bound veteran in need of transportation. The C.O.D. ensures handicapped accessibility of our towns sidewalks and public buildings.
