PEMBROKE COMMUNITY GROUP
NOVEMBER 10, 2014

The Pembroke Community Group has begun its annual Fund Drive for the 2014 Holiday Season for Pembroke Residents. The Community Group operates solely on donations and does not receive any Town, State or Federal Funding. Pembroke Community  Group is a non-profit 501(C)3 all donations are tax deductible.

Through this program, Pembroke Families, Elders or any person in need are given assistance for the holidays and are provided with food, gifts and clothing when funds permit. Our biggest part of this program is getting the families adopted by other families or groups of people sharing in the joy of giving. They receive a list with the family needs and the child’s age, sex and grade. No names are given out due to confidentiality in respect to the family. If you want to know more about this program please call us. We have all size families and individuals.

We are also looking for a group who would like to get a pajama drive going, please contact Sue at the Recreation office. 781-293-3249.

The Community Group is made up of many organizations, Town Employees, Churches, Fire Department, Recreation Dept. North Pembroke and Bryantville School Departments and various other “Giving” organizations and most of all Pembroke residents who help make the holidays a little brighter for their neighboring families who have fallen on hard times. All names remain confidential and we can only help Pembroke Families. North Pembroke School Contact is Judy McAuliffe and Bryantville School contact is Kathy Burke Southworth. We are hoping to bring on a contact person from Hobomock school this year.

Any person knowing of someone in need or are in need of assistance themselves can contact Linda Porazzo, Director of the Community Group at 781-243-1103 or Susan Roche at the Pembroke Recreation Center 781-293-3249. Application forms are available at the Pembroke Recreation Center proof of residency must be shown.

The Community Group is conducting a Toy and Clothing Drive. Anyone wishing to drop off NEW toys and clothing may take them to the Pembroke Recreation Department (781-293-3249), or weekends and evenings at the Pembroke Fire Station Headquarters on Center St.  We are always in dire need of items and Gift Certificates for teens and older adults. Please make sure the clothing tag is still on the clothing. Price tags can be removed. These items should not be wrapped. There is also a toy drop off box at the North Pembroke Post Office. Working on this as a family is a good way to teach our children about be giving.

Those wishing to make a donation should make their checks payable to: Pembroke Community Group. Mail to: P. O. Box 1387, Pembroke, Ma. 02359. You can also drop a check off at the Pembroke Town Clerks office or Board of Selectmen.
